Settling scores

Tony Jackson, writing on ESPN.com, “Tom Schieffer is cryptic and transparent”:

Although [Tom] Schieffer was sent here by Selig to get to the bottom of this complex financial labyrinth, he is a baseball man at heart. As a former Texas Rangers team president who also owned a limited partnership in the club at the time, he gets what all of this is supposed to be about. When Schieffer walked into the press box before a recent game to pick up a scorecard and a game-notes packet, a media colleague of mine thought it was noteworthy enough to tweet about it, the colleague pointing out that he had never, ever seen McCourt do such a thing.

Well played, @FakeAPStylebook and @sosgsosg! ;)

On Twitter? Follow @trolleydodger today!

Oh, and I guess it’s probably a good thing I didn’t stay home to watch the Dodgers’ opening game today. Yikes. No high five.

Dodgers (and Doug) officially on Twitter

As mentioned by Vin Scully during tonight’s game, the Dodgers have a new page on their website that links to their various social networking outposts: http://dodgers.com/connect. There’s blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and other stuff to choose from.

I was already aware of the official @dodgertownusa Twitter account, but was pleasantly surprised to find @dougiebaseball as well, which belongs to Dodger Doug Mientkiewicz. He’ll be covering the team in general but his rehab as well. As Doug wrote a few days ago:

hey dodger fans have a question about the team? feel free to ask-the dodgers asked me to give fans a way inside and they came up with this-

There’s also amusing banter about Joe Torre being a jinx for him, along with this funny tidbit from earlier today:

Ok good. I’m new to this whole twitter thing. I wanted to do a blog and got this instead

Tell ‘em you can do both, Doug! :)
