Mistakes
Since I’m still limited to one handed typing, I’ll just point to this post on my outdoors site End Pavement for a few more details of the accident. Thanks for the good wishes, especially “Trolley Dodger Fails to Dodge Asphalt” on Sons of Steve Garvey, which made me laugh and hurt my ribs. ;D
Out for spring training
Looks like any dreams I might have had of walking on to the Dodgers roster for spring training are officially dashed. I did this on my bicycle yesterday:

Well technically off the bike. Well technically on the street, hard. Ouch.
Update
The hospital called me — I’ve got a type 3 separated shoulder, and I also have a couple of broken ribs. Seeing my main doc in next day or so.
Victoria Beckham coming to Los Angeles
Thanks go out to the Sons of Steve Garvey blog for clueing us in on the true upside to the Beckham signing.
Of course, with that picture news, no one’s going to notice their post from earlier today about the Sons and Trolley Dodger both getting quoted on ESPN.com.
And how funny: it’s a story about Barry Bonds. Of course, it wasn’t likely going to be the Damian Jackson bombshell, now was it? ;)
Happy Blue Year!
This special time of year, it’s a good thing to remember what’s really important in life.
Like how there’s only 46 days until the pitchers and catchers voluntary reporting date. ;D
Happy new year to one and all! Let’s hope it’s a good one for all of us and for our favorite team.
Spotlight on some older posts
As I mentioned in “Why this site?” there are dozens of Dodger and baseball-related posts over on my personal website, celsius1414.com — part of the impetus to create this site.
In that post I also said I wasn’t going to transfer all of those articles over here, but I would like to spotlight a few of them, as they might be of interest to readers.
“Dodgers sign CF Juan Pierre” - in which I try to argue that the signing might not be as team-destroyingly bad as some folks are trying to make it.
“11-10″ - my family and I were at the four-home run game. Did we leave? Find out what it was like to be there that night.
“Equilibrium” - short, simple post talking about the philosophy of “Never too low, never too high.”
“Maddux and Lugo join the Dodgers” - the day after. Reflecting on comings and goings.
“Honesty, cheating, and gamesmanship in sports” - as the title indicates, more of a general sports post, but with baseball included.
“The Holy Trinity” - who would the 2nd baseman have been if Nomar had gone to the Yankees, to play first along with the rest of the Holy Trinity?
There’s also a separate subcategory on baseball scorekeeping, which I’ve been teaching myself this past year. And finally, since I was excited that the Dodgers were coming back to the Inland Empire, I created an iCal-format calendar for the upcoming 66ers 2007 season. I’m hoping to cover some of their games and news this coming year on Trolley Dodger.
Why this site?
If you check out the sections on baseball and the Dodgers on my personal site Celsius1414, you’ll find a ton of posts. Enough writing, in fact, to warrant a separate blog dedicated to the topic of baseball. I’m not going to transfer all of that older material, stretching back several years, but you might like to go check it out at some point.
The origins of this site’s name you can read about on the About page. And you can read about where my love affair with baseball and the Dodgers came from in the article “Back in the day…”
New site
Welcome to the first post of trolleydodger.com. This blog and site will be under development during the end of 2006 with the idea of debuting in early 2007. As the sidebar links suggest, this will be a blog dedicated to discussing the Los Angeles Dodgers and associated teams, though I wouldn’t at all be surprised if a few other topics sneaked in at various times.
If you’re interested in more about me, check out my primary website, celsius1414.com.
Welcome!
