This is also weird to see, though not as much as the trio above:
Maddux, who apparently is now the “Prius of pitchers”.
If he has lost some of his fastball to the ravages of time, he has retained the fuel economy of a parked Prius. He is maximum efficiency with minimum exertion.
Though it would seem Maddux has joined the Padres in the twilight of his career, it’s certainly possible he will still be getting outs when today’s rookies are getting out.
Let’s try not to talk him up too much, eh?
